Plasmapheresis is a treatment often selected by a neurologist when conventional methods of treatment are less effective. MGA has an outstanding relationship with The Western Pennsylvania Hospital’s Pheresis Department. Communication and care coordination between MGA and the Pheresis Department are of the highest quality. The West-Penn staff is dedicated, and committed to providing quality care and service for those patients requiring plasmapheresis. The department is home to the latest, state of the art pheresis machine. West-Penn is proud to be the only hospital in the Tri-State area to dedicate this advanced piece of equipment to patients with myasthenia gravis who are in need of pheresis services. In addition to a knowledgeable and compassionate staff, patients are provided a private room equipped with internet access and TV. Family members are welcome to stay with the patient as treatment is performed.
